Much of the research that is available today on CBD dosing for disease has centered around using CBD for epilepsy in high doses, so I have customers all the time ask me if they should crank up the dose on their daily CBD since a little seems to be helping. The answer is not necessarily. While these studies showed significant improvement in amount and duration of seizures using CBD in high doses, many people find lower dosing helps more with the relief of anxiety, chronic pain, nephropathy, etc.
Finding your therapeutic window is very important for every individual. It's all about Homeostasis. Just as Goldilocks found one bed to be too hard, one to be too soft, and the last to be just right, your CBD dose needs to be in that "sweet spot" of just right.
The most intriguing thing about this "sweet spot dose" is that it differs with each disorder. For Example higher doses are required to treat epilepsy, where lower doses seem to work best for relieving anxiety. Overshooting your therapeutic window can reduce the efficacy of CBD on your condition, causing frustration and costing you money.
How do I find my "sweet spot"?
When first starting CBD, be careful not to take the dosage advice of others. Their therapeutic window could be much different than yours. The best way to begin your journey with CBD is to start low and slow. Begin with just a few milligrams twice a day... do this for a few days and then increase by a few more milligrams for a few days. Continue this until you feel you are getting relief from your symptoms. Everyone's Endocannabinoid System is different, some more deficient than others.
