CBD Crystals (AKA: CBD Isolate)

What are CBD crystals and how do you use them?

CBD crystals, otherwise known as CBD isolate, are isolated & purified extractions of the cannabis/hemp plant. But, what exactly are they and how do you use them? Let's take a look at the multiple ways to use this form of CBD.
CBD comes in so many extracted forms:

  • Oils
  • Water Solubles
  • Creams/salves
  • Inhalants
  • Edibles
  • Bath & Body
  • Pet products
  • and so much more

Normally these products contain various amounts of other cannabinoids and compounds called terpenes and flavonoids (Read my post on terpenes here ) which are known as broad or full spectrum. All of these compounds together create what is called the Entourage Effect and many (including myself) feel that broad and full spectrum products are superior to isolate in many ways. However, if you are looking to add CBD into your life for overall health, wellness, and homeostasis, then CBD isolate might be a fine place for you to start.
CBD crystals are created after Cannabidiol has been separated from all the other compounds in the plant, resulting in CBD in it's purest form between 98 and 99 percent.

Let's look at 5 easy ways to use CBD crystals...

1) DIY CBD Vape Juice
You can make your own vape juice at home using CBD isolate crystals taking care to heat only to 140 degrees. Find the full recipe from Cannabidiol 360
here.
2) DIY Edibles
This is one of the easiest ways to use CBD Isolate. The isolate is fat soluble, so it's best to infuse it into your favorite cooking oil (butter, coconut oil, etc.) and use these infused fats to make your favorite food. You can find some wonderful full recipes from Discover CBD
here.
3) DIY Skin Care
CBD is a powerful antioxidant & also helps your skin to balance it's processes. Many say it brings relief to acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, etc. Your skin is a living breathing organ, the largest of the human body and needs the same care and concern given to the rest of our bodies. here.
4) DIY Oil Tincture
CBD Oil tinctures are quite possibly the most widely recognized form of oral CBD preparations. MCT oil and olive oil are the most popular carrier oils when making a CBD tincture. Watch this short video on DIY CBD oil tincture
here.
5) Dabbing
Dabbing has become all the rage in the last few years. Dabbing is technically classified as the flash vaporization of CBD concentrates when it is applied to a hot surface and inhaled. You will need to make an investment in a dabbing rig to use this method.

No matter what method you prefer for consuming CBD isolate, one of the most important things to consider when you are first starting CBD is to go low and slow until you find the dosage that gives you the most benefit. Whether it's anxiety relief, pain relief, or benefit/relief from a host of other diseases and disorders; it's important to remember that everyone's endocannabinoid system is different so a dose that works for one person will not necessarily work for another. Start your dose low & give that a week to see what results you are experiencing. If you achieve relief from that dose then stay there.... that is your "sweet spot"... if not, then increase by a few milligrams a day until you start to see results.
